The lecture will focus on the speaker's expert subject area, Traditional and Contemporary Mosque Architecture with a focus on Bosnia and Turkey. Our special guest speaker has extensive experience having studeied in Sarajevo and Berlin.
Mrs. Alma Hudovic Kljuno began her architecture studies at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Sarajevo in 1999. Two years later she continued her studies at the University of Technology in Berlin where she graduated in 2007. After two years of experience working in Berlin she returned to Sarajevo where she worked as a teaching assistant at the International University of Sarajevo. During her academic career at IUS Mrs. Hudovic Kljuno was assisting and teaching several project design and theory of Architecture courses. At the same time she worked on her dissertation ‘Socio-political background on the development of contemporary mosque architecture in Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina’ at the University of Technology in Berlin. She has published several articles related to the topic of contemporary mosque architecture, was invited to hold a lecture in Berlin in 2011 as a part of the exhibition ‘Kubbus oder Kuppel’ (The Cube or the Dome) and took part in a competition for the Islamic cultural center in Ljubljana in 2011.
