- Colour in Architecture -
The IBU Architecture Department is calling on ambitious individuals – high school and university students from across the region to participate in the second edition of IBU.ARC photo competition with the topic “Colour in Architecture”.
The competition brief
Participants are asked for a creative response to the topic "Colour in Architecture". Colour is an indivisible element of our world, not just in the natural environment but also in the man-made architectural ambience. For this contest, we invite you to share your most intriguing shots showing colour as the main aspect of the composition. The subject matter must have an architectural theme or must contain some elements of the built environment (door, window, chair, street, public square,…). The location of images is unrestricted. Interior or exterior photos that best capture the character of a building or place/space can be entered in the competition.
Each entry must be supported by a statement – photo caption which will best explain the captured scene.
You have total creative freedom. You can enter images straight out of camera, or edit as much as you like and even create collages and compositions.
How to enter
- To enter, you must send your photos (jpeg format) to [email protected], or upload them and tag #IBUarccolour.
- You may submit up to 3 photographs.
- Entries must be submitted in digital JPEG/JPG format.
- No signature, stamp or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.
- Entries close midnight April 30, 2020
IBU.ARC photo competition entries will be judged by IBU staff members, architects and photographers. The competition is open to ambitious high school and university students - with an interest in architecture and a passion for photography.
Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality and originality of photography. The jury is particularly looking for an inspiring story that is clearly recognizable in the images.
The participant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered.
The jury will select 15 finalists which will be notified of their status by May 21, 2020 and will appear on our IBU Architecture Department website. The shortlisted photographs will be part of the IBU.ARC photo exhibition “Colour in Architecture”, at the International Burch University, Sarajevo, June 08, 2020.
